Shift: 7:00PM-7:00AM
Description: Additional Information: Position Description: General job duties.
Recovering immediate post op heart patients and caring for other cardiac patient populations such as IABP and Impella.
Types of procedures required. Cardiac Monitoring, Vents, Central Lines, Art Lines, Drip titration, Trach cares, Tube Feedings, Emergent Re-opening of Sternotomy at the bedside. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. IABP, Impella, Swans, Hamilton Vents, Alaris pumps, EVD s, Epic training Required skills and minimum years of experience. 2 years critical care/ICU experience in a CVICU.
Experience with recovering patients immediately post op from open heart surgery up to the first 24 hours after surgery.
Must have this experience within the last 12 months. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.ACLS, BLS, NIHSS and ND or compact state RN license.
Shift or schedule requirements.12 hour day/night rotate with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Floating to over units/departments.
Float to all critical care units and IMC (intermediate stepdown) with ratio of 1:4. Scheduled between all 3 campuses. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.2E - 18 bed Unit, 5CD-32 Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
(nursing only)Primarily 2:1 ratio, occasionally 1:1 and 3:1 based on complexity and acuity of the patient.
