Position Description: 1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
General assessments, IV starts, portacath access, medication administration.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EPIC, Omnicell, Massimo acoustic respiratory monitoring
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
M/S experience required
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS required, ONS preferred, CHPN preferred, OCN preferred
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Weekends may be required depending on unit needs. Three 12 hour shifts per week, night shift.
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Heart Center, General Medicine, Post-Surgical, Ortho-Neuro
7. Bed size/number of rooms/daily specimen/procedure count for this unit/dept.
32 bed unit.
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Ratio on days 4-5:1
Ratio on nights 4-6:1
9. Dress Code:
No visible tattoos, piercings, unnaturally colored hair, clothing with branding symbols, perfume, cigarette smoke.
Comments: Will be asked to float as needed.
OR RN License Required for starting.
Temp license available for non-OR RN
Name of Position Requirements
- 2 years experience
- Computer Charting experience
- Able to start an IV
- Must be willing to float to all Med Surg units
