Number of Beds : 8 PICU, 12 Peds Patient Ratios : 2:1 PICU & 4:1 Gen Peds Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : all RN staff & Child Life Specialist Type of equipment : Critical Care monitoring equipment, IV pumps Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: self-schedule requests Floating policy: resource & task only (no assignment) in Post-Partum/OB, ED, & adult critical care units For NICU assignment accepted if appropriate since closely resembles PICU population & competencies align Patient Experience requirements: Bedside Shift Report, Names on care boards Hospital Specifics- Certifications: BLS, PALS Requested Skill Set: Pediatric critical care comfort & competency Must have: Pediatric critical care competency/comfort, BLS, PALS, at least 1 year of pediatric experience in critical care setting, conscious sedation competency/comfort Advanced skills needed: comfort & competency with critical care monitoring, care of pediatric trauma patients Procedures performed on unit: chest tubes, intubation, conscious sedation, critical care monitoring, A-lines, Hi-Flo oxygen delivery
