Shift Breakdown: 3x12 hrs
Shift: 12 hours, nights

Trauma Level: 3 Charting System: Cerner Required Certifications: BLS, PALS Preferred Unit Notes MedSurg/MedSurg peds - # beds: 45 beds total - adult medsurg and pediatric medsurg combined, pediatric experience preferred - Certs: BLS, PALS - Ratios: 1 to 5 - EMR: Cerner - Shifts: 12 hrs 7-7, self scheduling to some degree, schedules made out about 30-45 days in advance - Floating: Not required but they can float to tele or OB if they want and have that experience - Floor specific orientation: 2-3 days, one of those days - half of the day is spent doing a scavenger hunt - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: medsurg patients, COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho - Additional Notes: Must have 2-3 years in specialty, very fast paced unit, patients move in and out quickly, avg length of stay is 3 days, may see protonix or heparin drip, pediatric experience preferred, if traveler does not have that experience, they will not take pediatric patients
