Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) Location: Bakersfield, CA Contract Length: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Day, Evening, or Night Shifts (Flexible) Weekly Hours: 36-Hour Weekly Guarantee Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team on a 13-week contract in Bakersfield, CA. This position offers flexible shift options, providing opportunities to deliver critical care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide rapid and accurate assessments, interventions, and treatments for patients in emergency situations. Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and manage IV therapies as needed. Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity and clinical guidelines. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Respond to emergencies and critical situations with a calm and efficient approach. Document patient care and treatments accurately and timely, adhering to hospital policies and legal standards. Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions. Requirements: Active and unencumbered California RN license. Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Emergency Department experience. Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) . Proficiency in electronic charting systems (e.g., EPIC or Cerner) is a plus. Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills. Contract Details: 13-week assignment with potential extension opportunities. Flexible shift options: 12-hour day, evening, or night shifts. Weekly guarantee of 36 hours. Competitive compensation package, including hourly pay and potential stipends for travel, housing, and meals if eligible.
