Job Description: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) San Antonio​, TX Shift - 3-12hr, 7pm to 7:30am Contract - 13 Weeks PICU and NICU experience is required Summary: The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for delivering pulmonary care to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision. This role involves performing patient assessments, developing respiratory care plans, and executing various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital. Responsibilities: Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Participate in emergency response situations (Code Blue and White). Conduct airway management procedures, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning. Deliver aerosolized medications effectively. Manage ventilators, including setup and operation. Provide oral hygiene care. Place and maintain airway retaining devices. Manage airway support devices, including BiPAP and CPAP. Administer oxygen delivery devices and perform therapeutic monitoring. Analyze chest films and collect and analyze blood gases. Perform EKG analysis and ensure accurate and complete documentation. Clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary. Participate in CAP and JC surveys. Function as Shift Leader or Team Leader as needed. Advanced Practice Skills: Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2. Conduct pulmonary function testing. Assist with bronchoscopy procedures. Perform hemodynamic monitoring and waveform analysis. Evaluate nocturnal SpO2 (Desaturation Studies). Conduct polysomnography. Fulfill transport duties as required. Job Requirements: Education/Skills: Must meet licensure and/or certification requirements. Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: RT or RCP License in the state of employment required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC required. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required. Work Schedule: # 24-16396
