Shift: 7P-7A 12Night Description: 12/16 or 12/23 start mandatory Hospital Beds: 64 Beds: 27 Minimum experience RN 2 yearsTech 1 year; Nursing home experience is acceptedWill you accept a first-time traveler? YesPatient Types:Total Joints (knees, hips etc), General MS, Appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel, Urology (turp, cysto), CHF, PNA, Sepsis, DM. Patient s with addictions in addition to other medical issuesPatient Ratios:RN: Days 1:5-6; Nights 1:6-7Tech: Days Nights 1:10-12Required Certifications:RN: BLS, ACLS (preferred)Tech: BLSSkills required:RN:Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred manager is willing to accept travelers without this ONLY if they are willing to be trained as Charge and to work in that capacity as needed during their contractChest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), IVABX, Heparin gtts; are not required to reading and interpret cardiac strips but it is preferableTech:ADLs, Feeding, Tray Setup, answering call bells, V/S, blood sugars, ambulate patients, range of motionSupport on the Unit:Charge nurse: takes assignment most shiftsRT, 24/7Hospitalist, 24/7Centralized Tele monitoring techThe facility has one person to assist with difficult IVs and central lines, but nurses are expected to make two attempts to start their own IVs before asking for assistance.Rapid Response is not a designated separate team, but is attended by the in-house provider, respiratory, ICU ED charge nurses, unit charge and staff nurses, and the nursing supervisor at a minimum.Charting System: CernerFloating: If yes, where?May float to ICU for Med Surg level patientsMay float to ED to task/as helping handsOrientation: (facility and unit)General hospital orientation1 shift on unitScheduling:Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs are allowed to work the same weekend generallyWill they be on call?
