Job Title: Surgical Tech Location: Lancaster, PA Duration: 13 weeks to start Shift: 4 - 10 hour shifts 7:00am -5:30pm or 9:00am - 7:30pm, depending on the needs of the department. No block schedule. Work 8 hour shifts or take call every 3rd weekend at the main OR primarily to do ortho cases but may need to do general surgery cases as well. On Call: The hours may include the following times: 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:30pm - 11:00pm, 11:00pm - 7:00am Work an 8 hour shift or take call for 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday. Call hours for holidays are the same as listed above You may have "late call” after your 10 hour shift to finish cases A requirement of taking call, they MUST arrive within 30 minutes of receiving the call to come in. Summary: Procedural Technicians function in both non-sterile and sterile capacities by creating an optimal environment for the procedural patient. Procedural Technicians possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate invasive, therapeutic, and / or diagnostic procedures. Procedural Technicians perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to aseptic technique, sterile technique, scrubbing, decontamination and sterilization. Responsibilities: Maintains competency to scrub procedures: Practices aseptic technique, sterile technique, and maintains universal precautions. Maintains and acquires knowledge of instruments including identification and proper use and appropriate decontamination / sterilization. Practices under the direct supervision of the procedural team and within the scope of practice of a Procedural Technician. Age-Specific Knowledge & Skills – Possesses the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet patients' physical, psychological and social needs with those growth and development levels/patient populations served within the department. Teamwork: Consults and collaborates with colleagues to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of patient care. Education: The Procedural Technician demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning through self-identification of learning needs, by participating in ongoing educational activities, and by seeking experiences that reflect current practice in order to maintain skills and competence. The Procedural Technician maintains his or her own records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning. Other duties and projects as assigned. Credentials: C-CCORT or CST or SURGTECH (Required) A high school diploma or equivalent. BLS certification. One year of Ortho Operating Room scrub experience. # 24-18609
