Job Description: The RN functions primarily in direct patient care and demonstrates “competent” clinical practice. This position triages patients, obtains patient history and vital signs and assesses patients. Acts independently to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician in life-threatening situations. Provides care for the acutely ill as well as the non-acute patient. Performs multiple procedures utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills and assists the physician with their procedures. Provides comfort, both physical and psychological, to the patient, their family, and visitors. Provides discharge and follow-up instructions to the patient and family. Answers the ambulance radios and, without assistance, give appropriate orders for pre-hospital care. Works with multiple types of sophisticated equipment and handles various types of patients in a frequently stressful environment. Facility Specific Requirement: Cannot accept local candidates that live within 50 miles of the facility. Requirements 2+ Years of Experience - Required Profile Requirements: Work History Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty 2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years License/Certifications (MI LARA & BLS, ACLS - AHA) Candidates' Permanent Address (Facility will consider local candidates for one 13 week contract, afterwards, they are to go perm- 50 mile radius restriction) Certification Requirements ACLS (AHA) BLS (AHA) State License Requirements Michigan Hours/Day: 12 Shift Notes: 1 opening remaining with shift 1000-2230, 1 opening with shift 0900-2130, 3 openings with shift 0700-1930 Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend On Call Requirements: No Call
