Position Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: Salem, OR Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Director of Special Education Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school district in Salem, OR. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating and providing therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, families, and a multidisciplinary team to enhance students' communication skills and overall academic success. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students ranging from preschool to high school. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address communication needs, including articulation, language development, social communication, and fluency. Provide direct therapy services to students through individual and group sessions, both in-person and via teletherapy (as needed). Participate in the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans in collaboration with teachers, special education staff, and parents. Monitor student progress through data collection and ongoing assessments, adjusting intervention plans as needed to maximize student success. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom environment. Provide consultation and training to parents and staff regarding speech and language development, as well as communication support strategies. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, progress reports, and treatment plans in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to support student services and interventions. Stay current with best practices, research, and technology in the field of speech-language pathology to ensure high-quality care. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid Oregon SLP license and Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). Oregon teaching license with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement (or eligibility to obtain). Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting. Knowledge of a variety of speech and language disorders and appropriate intervention strategies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage caseloads effectively. Experience with bilingual (English/Spanish) students is a plus, though not required.
