Job Title: School Psychologist Location: Belmont, MA Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: Belmont Public Schools is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will play a critical role in helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally by providing psychological assessments, counseling, and intervention services. The position requires close collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being and promote a positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' academic, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans based on student assessments. Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to design and implement interventions that support student success. Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, providing insight and recommendations for student accommodations and services. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure effective support. Provide consultation to school staff on mental health, learning disorders, and behavior management strategies. Promote positive mental health and a safe, supportive school environment through school-wide initiatives. Stay current with best practices in school psychology, child development, and related fields. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid Massachusetts certification/licensure as a School Psychologist. Experience working in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of psychological assessments, counseling techniques, and behavioral interventions. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
