Job Title: School Psychologist Location: Sycamore, IL Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: The Sycamore School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to provide services to students in need of emotional, behavioral, and academic support. The School Psychologist will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to assess students' needs, provide counseling, and develop interventions to help students succeed in a positive, inclusive educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments to identify students’ cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs. Develop individualized intervention plans and collaborate with educators to implement strategies that support student success. Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic, emotional, or social challenges. Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings to provide recommendations based on assessments. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to promote students' well-being and academic achievement. Monitor student progress and make adjustments to interventions as needed. Educate staff and families about mental health, learning disorders, and behavior management strategies. Support school-wide initiatives to foster a positive and safe school climate. Stay informed of the latest research, techniques, and regulations in school psychology. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid Illinois certification as a School Psychologist. Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred. Knowledge of psychological assessments, interventions, and behavioral strategies. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
