Job Title: School Psychologist Location: Harbor, IL Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: The Harbor School District is seeking a qualified and compassionate School Psychologist to support the mental, emotional, and academic development of students. The School Psychologist will conduct evaluations, provide counseling, and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a positive and inclusive school environment. This role requires a deep understanding of child development, behavior management, and the ability to design effective intervention strategies. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments to diagnose students' learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address identified needs. Provide individual and group counseling for students facing academic, emotional, or social challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create intervention plans that support students’ academic and emotional growth. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 Plan meetings, contributing valuable insights on student progress and needs. Monitor the progress of students receiving psychological services and adjust interventions as needed. Offer consultation and support to school staff on behavioral interventions, classroom management, and mental health issues. Promote positive mental health and well-being across the school community through programs and initiatives. Stay current on research and best practices in school psychology and child development. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid Illinois certification as a School Psychologist. Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of psychological testing, intervention strategies, and behavioral supports. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
