Job Title: School Psychologist Location: East Boston, MA Job Type: Full-Time Position Overview: The East Boston School District is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to join our educational team. The School Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their academic, emotional, and social development. This role involves conducting assessments, offering counseling services, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive school environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments to identify students' cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs. Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies to support student learning and emotional well-being. Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to design and implement strategies that promote student success and mental health. Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings, contributing to the development of student support plans. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting strategies as needed. Provide consultation to teachers and staff on classroom management and behavioral interventions. Support the creation of school-wide programs aimed at fostering a positive school climate and improving mental health awareness. Stay up-to-date on best practices, research, and legal requirements in school psychology. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid Massachusetts certification as a School Psychologist. Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of psychological assessments, behavioral interventions, and mental health services. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
