Description
Surgical Technologist- Monday through Thursday
Trinity Health is one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation, serving diverse communities that include more than 30 million people across 22 states. Trinity Health includes 94 hospitals, as well as 109 continuing care locations that include PACE programs, senior living facilities, and home care and hospice services. Its continuing care programs provide nearly 2.5 million visits annually.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Preferred Education: Graduate of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program for Surgical Technologist.
• Preferred Certification: CST (certification requirement directed by local facility).
• A minimum of 18 months experience is required for CST and/or Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
• If a Surgical Technologist program has not been completed, due to training on the job or trained in the military – Five (5) years’ work experience is required.
• Cannot hold a concurrent position at a Trinity Health facility.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, surgeons and other patient care personnel, often during emergency or stressful situations.
• Analytical skills necessary in order to organize and prepare operating room according to best practice methods and procedures.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods (greater than eighty percent of work time) and to occasionally lift and position patients when preparing patients for operative procedures.
• Manual dexterity necessary to grasp and hold firmly retractors and delicate surgical instruments. Mechanical aptitude to operate a large variety highly technical medical equipment.
• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
