Job Description

• ICU Details:

  • 9 bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, unless 1:1 care is indicated.
  • Potential for Med/Surg overflow, with a ratio of 3 to 4 patients per nurse.
• Shifts:

  • 12-hour day or night shifts.
  • Schedule consists of 72 hours every two weeks.
• Patient Population:

  • Primarily adult ICU patients, with occasional stable pediatric patients. Unstable pediatric patients are transferred to a higher level of care.
• Staffing:

  • Minimum of three nurses on each shift.
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for charge nurse duties.
  • May float to other departments as needed (not responsible for a team of patients).

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • Must have PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Additional certifications preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support).
