Job Description

• Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers not accepted
• Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Work Environment

• General Skills and Work Setting Requirements:

  • General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma)
  • Very large and busy with high acuity
  • Stroke and STEMI Certified
• Ratio / Census: 1:4 Ratio; 59 Bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
• Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Scheduling

• RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum 7 days
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Floating: Rare
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.

Compliance

• Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant, there may be a delay of 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Contract Length

• 14 weeks

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination required.
  • COVID vaccine or declination required.
  • Hepatitis B, Varicella, MMR, and other vaccinations as specified.

Competencies

• Various competency exams required based on specialty and role.
