Job Description
- Unit Name: Emergency Department
- Unit Description: 65-Bed Emergency Department, pod-based, with separate pediatric pod and separate Acute Mental Health area.
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience.
- Skill Sets Required:
- General ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education.
- Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Patient Population: All
- Census: 230 visits/day
- EMR (Charting System): EPIC – ASAP
- Floating Required: Yes
- Rotating Shifts Required: Yes (Day Rotate: 7a-7p, 11a-11p, & 7p-7a when requested; Night position does not rotate)
- Rotation Frequency: Low
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - preferred
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - strongly preferred
Additional Information
- Fit Testing: N95 fit test required within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: A completed primary vaccination series required; no exemptions or waivers considered.
- MMR Vaccine: Documentation of two measles vaccines, two mumps vaccines, and one rubella vaccine required.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15th - April 30th); no exemptions or waivers considered.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test screening or negative QuantiFERON TB Test required within 3 months of start date.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA required within 365 days of start date.
- Background Checks: Criminal background check and verification of education and work history required.
Required Documentation
- Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city & state.
- References: 2 recent references, minimum 1 Supervisor or Above, in skillset.
- Skills Checklist: Required for submission.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions.
