Job Description

• Experience Required: 1 year (First-timers accepted)
• EPIC experience required
• Ratios: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
• On-call Requirement: No
• Float Requirement: Yes (Traveler will have a home base but could float to any and all Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)
• Block Scheduling: Depends on unit needs

Work Settings

• Unit: Neuro ICU required; MICU and SICU preferred
• Patient Types:

  • Stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Patients with severe head injuries, concussions, seizures, brain tumors, spinal cord injury, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and post-operative complications

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred

Special Requirements

• Experience: Ambulatory OR, Community hospital, General OR, and Pedi General OR experience required
• References: 2 references from authority figures (Managers, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last year must be included with submission
• Flu Vaccine: Required from 10/31 to 3/31 (Medical/Religious Exemptions ONLY)
• License: Florida State or compact license required at time of submission (Pending License not accepted)
• Local Candidates: Accepted at the same rate as travelers
