Employment Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 3x12s
  • Start Date: ASAP (dependent on EPIC experience/training schedule)

  • ER Magnet Level II Trauma Center
  • Fast-paced emergency department with 65,000 visits annually
  • 36 beds including 8 express care beds
  • Certified comprehensive stroke center and 24/7 interventional cardiology
  • Magnet-designated facility

Requirements

  • Licensure: Active VA or Compact License in hand at submission
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant field

Additional Information

  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Possible requirement
  • Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (details to be discussed in the interview)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (October 1st - March 31st). Medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Pre-employment Physical: Required within a year of start
  • Fit Test: Required within the last 12 months
  • TB Testing: Negative PPD, Tspot, or QGold within 1 year of start
  • Drug Screening: Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Documentation and Compliance

  • Proof of I-9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check and various health documents required prior to start
  • Completion of online orientation and various facility-specific documents

Competencies

  • Core competencies must be updated annually
  • Additional competencies may be required based on specific unit needs
