Job Description

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Act as a liaison between the Director of Nursing (DON) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) nursing personnel.
    • Supervise nursing activities of residents to ensure quality patient care and compliance with physician orders and hospital practices.
    • Manage staffing schedules, payroll, and overtime authorization; may involve hiring, firing, or disciplinary actions in conjunction with the DON/CNO.
    • Assist with evaluations of SNF nursing staff according to facility policy and participate in recruitment activities as needed.
    • Develop and manage nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements.
    • Promote effective working relationships with medical staff, administration, and other departments.
    • Assist in the orientation and education of new nursing personnel.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Licensure: California licensed RN and active CPR certification.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience; direct personnel management experience is highly preferred.
    • Previous experience in a long-term care facility is beneficial.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in English (verbal and written communication).
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Dependable, organized, and reliable with good attendance.
    • Ability to relate well with co-workers, staff, and residents.

  • Must be able to work weekends.
