Overview

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Shift: 40 hours per week, 5 shifts of 8 hours each, from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) RN experience with adult population.
  • Licensure: Current Rhode Island or compact RN License at the time of submission.
  • Certifications Required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for specific units
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for specific units
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) for specific units
    • IV Certification (LVN/LPN)
    • State License Verification

Competencies

  • Must complete various competency exams and training within the first year, including:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Color Blind Testing
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
    • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III)
    • CA Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (if applicable)

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start.
  • Vaccinations:
    • Tdap
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray
    • Flu vaccine for the 2024-25 season
    • COVID-19 vaccination and booster as per state regulations
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.

Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: Full background/criminal check required.
  • References: Minimum of two reference checks required.
  • Employment Application: Resume/Application required.
  • Education Verification: Required for all candidates.

Additional Information

  • Various facility-specific documents and compliance forms must be completed prior to starting.
  • Candidates must review and complete the Prime - Essentials of Orientation Manual and Quiz before starting.
