Job Description

• Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

Skills and Work Setting Requirements

• Experience with oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC, oncologic emergencies.
• Familiarity with chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, cadd pumps, and PCA pumps.

Work Environment

• Patient Ratio: 1:6; 19 beds with an average daily census of 15
• Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Floating: Yes, within the facility and possibly at Piedmont Augusta Summerville (3 miles from main campus)
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None

Holiday Requirements

• Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. Specific holidays include:

  • New Year’s Eve and Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve and Day

Compliance and Documentation

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may push back start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.

• RTO (Request Time Off): Maximum of 7 days
• Competencies: Various competency exams required based on specialty
