Job Description

• Minimum Experience: 2 years; 1st timers accepted
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Skills and Work Setting Requirements

• Experience with oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC, oncologic emergencies.
• Familiarity with chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, cadd pumps, and PCA pumps.
• Patient Ratio/Census: 1:6; 19 beds with an average daily census of 15.
• Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.

Scheduling and Availability

• RTO (Request Time Off): Maximum 7 days.
• Weekends: Every other weekend.
• Floating: Yes, within the facility and possibly at Piedmont Augusta Summerville (3 miles from main campus).
• Call Requirements: None.
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.

Compliance and Documentation

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may push back start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start.
• References: 2 clinical references needed.
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof that it is running (due within 30 days post start).

Health and Safety Requirements

• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or declination required.
  • COVID vaccine or declination required.
• Drug Testing: Negative 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start.

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
