Job Description

  • Unit: BMT (14 & 15W James) - Oncology
  • Shift: Day/Night shifts available; no set schedule or weekends. Flexibility is required.
  • Patient Care Unit: Mixed acuity PCU and MS unit.

Patient Diagnoses

  • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
  • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult)
  • Amyloidosis
  • Aplastic Anemia
  • Chronic Leukemia
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
  • Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
  • Hodgkin's Lymphoma
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Myelodysplastic Syndrome
  • Myeloproliferative Disorders
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Special Procedures/Unit Details

  • Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic Transplants
  • CAR-T Therapy

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Oncology experience.

Certifications Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
  • Oncology Certified

Preferred Certifications

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Skills Required

  • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
  • Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Use of Rapid Response Teams
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line blood draw
  • Peripheral line care/management
  • PICC line management
  • Nasal cannula administration

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Additional Information

  • Flexibility: Must be open to working weekends and have a maximum of 1-2 days of requested time off (RTO).
  • Background Check: A 7-year criminal background check is required.
  • References: 2 professional references are required, including at least one from a manager or director.

  • Physical Exam
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
  • Drug Testing
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (recommended but not required)

Compliance Requirements

  • Monthly monitoring for compliance with various health and safety regulations.
  • Completion of specific training and documentation as required by the facility.
