Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering holistic and individualized care to patients.
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating a plan of care that considers various factors affecting patient health.
• Fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Adhering to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable laws to promote an optimal patient experience.

Job Accountabilities

Assessment and Planning of Patient Care

• Conduct comprehensive patient and family assessments.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to adjust and coordinate patient care plans.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and across departments.

Provision of Patient Care

• Provide competent and compassionate patient care in accordance with established standards.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on team members' capabilities.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and care plans.

Evaluation of Patient Care

• Monitor and assess patient care interventions and outcomes.
• Conduct ongoing education for patients and families.
• Document patient responses and adjust care plans as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Certification & Licensure

• Required:

  • California RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg/Telemetry.
• Previous EPIC experience is required.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of nursing theories, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Must meet the physical demands of the job, including the ability to perform various nursing tasks in an acute care environment.

Additional Information

• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Must comply with all health and safety regulations, including immunizations and background checks.
