Description

• A brand new state-of-the-art facility, the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, is set to open in May 2025. This will be New Jersey’s first and only freestanding cancer hospital, integrating RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute.
• Shift: 8 AM - 6:30 PM
• On-call requirement: 2-3 days per week (RNs assist with PICC but do not insert).
• No block scheduling; local candidates are accepted.

Patient Mix

• The role involves covering the Morris Cancer Center, with some responsibilities in conscious sedation recovery (some patients will go to PACU).

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a stroke center; Level I or II experience is required.
• Skills with specialty equipment (e.g., EKOS +, A-line, procedural wedge pressures).
• Experience as a primary RN and covering the portable Midline team for midline insertion house-wide.
• ED or ICU experience is highly preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Certifications Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (if applicable)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - Required for ER and Pediatric ER RNs.
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all Adult Critical Care Specialties RN/LVN/LPN.

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID and other accounting documents are required.
• Compliance with health documents, including TB tests, vaccinations, and drug testing.
• Background checks and references are mandatory.
