- Facility: New 15-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in post-operative Liver Transplant care.
- Provider Coverage: 24/7 in-house provider coverage for prompt medical attention.
- Program Growth: VCU Health completed 205 liver transplants in 2023.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required
- State License Verification - Permanent RN license required (temporary licenses not accepted)
- NURSYS Verification (for RNs) - Required
Health Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial physical required, updated annually.
- Vaccinations:
- Tdap vaccine required (declination accepted with written signature).
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray required.
- Flu vaccine or exemption required.
- Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen required within a year of start.
Background and History Checks
- Criminal Background Check: Required within 60 days of start, covering all states lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- References: 2 references required.
Additional Information
- Facility Specific Documents: Various documents required prior to start, including confidentiality agreements and proof of fingerprinting submission.
- Training: Candidates will complete modules during orientation.
