Job Description

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist is a specialized surgical technologist who works as part of the surgical team in the operating room, focusing on heart and vascular services. Key responsibilities include:

Organizing and preparing case set-up prior to surgeries.
Assisting the Registered Nurse with circulating duties, including preparing and retrieving supplies.
Cleaning, assembling, operating, and caring for surgical instruments and equipment.
Assisting in the orientation and training of new staff.
Providing patient care according to established procedures and hospital policies.
Documenting procedure changes and managing supply orders and stock.
Participating in quality measurement and monitoring.
Identifying and communicating the need for specialized instruments and techniques during surgeries.

Required Certifications

Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement
Registered Nurse (RN) | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement
Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA)

Additional Notes

Candidates may be registered as an Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN.
