Job Description

• Unit: Med Surg 8th Floor
• Specialties:

  • 8 East: Oncology, Hematology, Endocrinology
  • 8 West: ENT, Dermatology, GI General
• Patient Ratios:

  • Med/Surg: 1:5-6 days, 1:6-7 nights
• Covid Vaccine: Not required

Requirements

• Licensure: NY License in hand
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Preferred
  • EPIC - Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Preferred
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER staff
• Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years

Additional Information

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• RTO (Request Time Off): Around 7 days
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; locals accepted at a local bill rate with a reduction.

Health and Competency Requirements

• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
  • Drug Testing (9 Panel) within 30 days of start
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation during flu season
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Preferred)
• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing Online
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for specific units)
  • NY Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (Annual)
