Job Description

• Specialty: Med/Surg
• Responsibilities include taking care of stroke patients and occasional Peritoneal Dialysis patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6 days, 1:6-7 nights.

Requirements

• Licensure: New York RN license
• Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in specialty
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Experience with: Stroke patients and Peritoneal Dialysis patients
• EPIC experience required.

Additional Information

• RTO (Request Time Off): Only one holiday, 7 days or less total.
• Local candidates accepted.

Health and Safety Documents

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start.
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot within 1 year of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination (during flu season)
  • COVID-19 Vaccines (preferred, not required)
• Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start.

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Color Blind Testing
• Competency Exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
• NY Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (Annual)

Background and History Checks

• Standard background check (updated annually)
• Professional references required (2 for Travel, Allied, Per Diem Acute Care; 1 for Per Diem Non-Acute Care)
