Job Description

• Float between Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and Westerly Hospital as needed.
• 40 hours per week, with 5 shifts of 8 hours (15:00-23:30).
• Weekend coverage and holiday rotation as needed.
• Free parking available.

Required Certifications

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (required for NICU)
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (required for ER)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (required for L&D RNs)
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for RNs)
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (required for Psychiatrics/Behavioral Health)

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry and ICU)
• Color Blind Testing Online (required for all candidates)

Health Documents

• Physical Exam (required within 12 months of start)
• Fit Test (required within 12 months, updated annually)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required within 10 years for specific units)
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (required within specified timeframes)
• Flu Vaccination (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 Vaccination (proof of completed series required)

Background Checks

• 7 Year Criminal Background Check (required within 12 months, updated annually)
• National Sex Offender Search (required within 30 days of start)

Additional Information

• Candidates must apply for a Connecticut license within 72 hours and provide proof.
• MRI Techs at Lawrence and Memorial do not require a Connecticut license.
• Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start.
