Certification details
- Position / Specialty: RRT
- Start date: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 days
- Disciplines REQ: Seeking strong pediatric ICU skill set; therapists who can jump in and work across at least two of the three ICUs including a Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or the Cardiothoracic ICU
- Years of experience REQ: will consider 1 year at a children’s hospital if they are a more experienced RRT, otherwise 1.5 years in a children’s hospital is preferred
- First-timers accepted: Y
- Weekend REQ: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. It will be 2 full weekends in a 4-week schedule block. Scheduling blocks are 4 weeks long. They try to schedule staff and travelers every other weekend off, if possible, but not guaranteed.

Job details
- Must have at least 1 year experience from a dedicated children's facility if a strong RRT with NICU/PICU experience elsewhere, otherwise 1.5 years at a dedicated children’s hospital
- California RCP License in hand
- RRT national credential required; RRT-NPS preferred
- Trauma Level 1 experience/ NICU level 4
- Experience with trachs and vents, suctioning, and oxygen. No specialty or blood gases needed.
Job requirements
- Weekend shifts per contract: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. It will be 2 full weekends in a 4-week schedule block. Scheduling blocks are 4 weeks long. They try to schedule staff and travelers every other weekend off, if possible, but not guaranteed.
- Day shift weekends are considered Saturdays and Sundays
Schedule information
- Pediatric care from acute care on the floors, pulmonary floor (treating pts with asthma, bronchiolitis, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, cystic fibrosis, tracheostomy-ventilated support), trauma, Medical (treating pts with bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia), PICU (treating mostly intubated pts and therapies including specialty gases heliox/iNO), NICU and CTICU where heart transplants are performed. High acuity Level 4 NICU. High acuity patients on floors.
