Schedule information

12 hours 7-730
Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
Holiday Requirement: Yes if there is a need

Unit specific information

Unit: MedSurg - 6th Floor
# of Beds: 42
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Primarily a Medical floor with a little surgical overflow. Respiratory, GI, anything medical that you wouldn't do surgery on, behavioral health.
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin, PCAs, morphine drips
RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP-RT manages, high flow
Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Virtual Tele techs. RNs are required to read and interpret own strips.
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 3 days of general orientation including EPIC training and meeting with educator.

Additional Details

BLS
Charge Nurse on each shift
1:5 nurse:patient ratios (occasional 1:6; very rarely happens)
Floating Requirements: Will float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit

Their CEO, Diego is very down to earth and transparent. They will also pay for your certifications and RN license fees.
