    Schedule information
  • 12 hours 7-730
  • Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes if there is a need
    Unit specific information
  • Unit: MedSurg - 6th Floor
  • # of Beds: 42
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Primarily a Medical floor with a little surgical overflow. Respiratory, GI, anything medical that you wouldn't do surgery on, behavioral health.
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin, PCAs, morphine drips
  • RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP-RT manages, high flow
  • Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Virtual Tele techs. RNs are required to read and interpret own strips.
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 3 days of general orientation including EPIC training and meeting with educator.
    Additional Details
  • BLS
  • Charge Nurse on each shift
  • 1:5 nurse:patient ratios (occasional 1:6; very rarely happens)
  • Floating Requirements: Will float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit

I really enjoy working for Access Healthcare. My recruite, Deina, goes to bat for me. The agency pays better than other agencies. They will match pay as well. Their CEO, Diego is very down to earth and transparent. They will also pay for your certifications and RN license fees. You just show them the receipt and they are able to refund you on the next paycheck.
