Job details

M-F rotating start times (7-3:30, 7:30-4, or 8-4:30)
8-hour shifts
Primarily specializes in the care of patients undergoing invasive cardiac catheterization and/or invasive peripheral catheterization
Diagnostic and Interventional procedures include coronary, electrophysiologic, and peripheral vascular
Delivery of patient care during the pre, intra and post procedural phases of cardiac catheterization

Job requirements

Provides direct patient care before, during and after procedure
Assists with catheterization procedures, interventions, myocardial biopsy, temporary pacemaker insertion, pericardiocentesis, Swan-Ganz insertion, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion
Monitors hemodynamic data during catheterizations
Establishes and maintains rapport with patients
Monitors patient's physiologic and psychological status
Administers medications and emergency medications
Operates Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory equipment safely and efficiently
Responds to all emergency situations within the lab
Initiates life support techniques including CPR, drug administration, defibrillation, pacemaker insertion, balloon pump insertion, and airway management
Assesses patient for complications and responds appropriately
Graduate from Specialty Training Program- (Required)
Previous experience in Cardiac Cath, Telemetry, ED and/or ICU is strongly preferred

Schedule information

Rotating start times
8-hour shifts
On-call every third weekend
2 on-call days during the week
On-Call response time is 30 minutes for acute heart attack care
Rotation of 2 to 3 nights per week
2 holidays annually

Unit specific information

Unit specializes in the care of patients undergoing cardiac and peripheral catheterization
Procedures include diagnostic and interventional coronary, electrophysiologic, and peripheral vascular interventions
