Job Description

• Collects health history data from patients, families, and previous medical records.
• Completes admission assessments and notifies consults when admitting criteria are identified.
• Continually reassesses patients' developmental, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge needs.
• Creates and updates individualized age-appropriate plans of care in consultation with patients and families.
• Develops realistic outcomes based on patients' developmental stages and integrates physiological and psychological needs into practice.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions, medications, treatments, and education accurately and in a timely manner.
• Initiates and coordinates patient/family teaching using age-appropriate instructions and tools.
• Participates in interdisciplinary patient care meetings and develops discharge plans from the time of admission.
• Transcribes and signs off on orders correctly, utilizing the computer system and clarifying unclear orders.
• Applies telemetry leads for monitoring and interprets telemetry monitoring strips accurately.
• Manages patients on high-risk intravenous cardiac drugs and assists with elective cardioversion.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Required Licenses: Valid NJ RN License
• Certifications:

  • BLS Required
  • ACLS Required
  • PCCN Preferred
• Relevant Experience:

  • 1-2 years in Cardiac/Telemetry
  • 1-2 years in Acute Care
  • Basic dysrhythmia experience required
