General Description
Under general supervision, the role involves providing nursing care in a hospital setting to a diverse patient population with varying health issues, from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene based on patient manifestations.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including initiating and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans and inform them of hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
