General Description

Under general supervision, the role involves providing nursing care in a hospital setting to a diverse patient population with varying health issues, from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene based on patient manifestations.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including initiating and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans and inform them of hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
• Basic computer skills.
