General Description

Under general supervision, the Radiographer II performs advanced professional work in exposing and processing radiographic images and fluoroscopy examinations. The role includes circulating to other diagnostic radiology areas as assigned and may involve participation in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in specialized radiology areas.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate standard and portable radiology equipment for various examinations and fluoroscopy studies.
  • Assist physicians and perform specialized imaging procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and film output issues.
  • Act as a resource and preceptor for other Radiographers and students.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance radiology skills, including Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Maintain records, inventory, and equipment for the area of primary responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiography techniques.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of radiographic equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients of varying ages.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients and parents.
  • Computer skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • One (1) year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty required by the hiring department.
