Job Summary

Under the direction of a qualified physician, the MRI Tech performs a variety of technical MRI procedures essential for diagnosing diseases in patients.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and perform MRI procedures with a minimum accuracy of 99%.
• Schedule appropriate time for each patient and review requisitions during shifts.
• Prepare opaque contrast media with 100% accuracy.
• Process images within 30 minutes post-examination.
• Translate physician's orders into appropriate radiographic procedures with a minimum accuracy of 99%.
• Maintain patient logs and equipment downtime records.
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop imaging protocols for optimal studies.
• Assume responsibility as charge technologist, preparing reports and distributing them to supervisors.
• Follow protocols for "stat" and "emergency" studies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety and hygiene procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of replacement needs with a minimum accuracy of 95%.
• Transport patients safely to and from the department.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
• Ensure all charges are properly recorded.
• Assist patients and families throughout their stay.
• Cross-train in other areas as applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of prior experience as a licensed MRI Tech.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
