General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Perform general ultrasound exams including small parts, abdomen and OB/GYN independently. Must be proficient in OB scanning as this is a high percentage of exams performed. Ability to assist with Radiologist procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Ultrasound equipment: GE Logiq E9 and S8, Philips IU-22 and CX-50. EMR – EPIC, PACs - SECTRA
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Two years experience in a fast paced environment. Profiency in all exams in general job duties description above. Strong scanning abilities in OB required.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) – Both AB (abdomen) and OB/GYN speciality registries preferred
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
8 hour shifts/ 5 days per week (Mon-Fri). Must be able to work independently. Call is required. Call shifts are one evening every 5 weekdays (4:30 PM to 8 AM) and one weekend, every 5 weeks. Weekend call is from Friday at 4:30 PM to 8 AM Monday. Must be comfortable giving preliminary findings to ordering provider when on-call.

100 bed hospital and busy clinic – sonographers perform 10-12 exams per 8 hour shift.
Sonographer will be orientated to department procedures, policies and scan protocols by lead sonographer in department. Expect traveler to be able to scan independently with in 1 week of starting.
