Job Duties

This position supports the facility’s mission by serving as agency liaison between reimbursement staff and SEVTC staff while advocating on behalf of the individual in regard to benefits and rights, and counseling individuals or family members as needed.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships, produce reports, complete Medicaid Renewal packets and work effectively with peers, supervisors, individuals, family members, and community partners.

• Complete Medicaid Renewal packets
• Communicate with LDSS workers to determine needed verifications
• Collaborate and communicate with Reimbursement, Authorized Representatives, and Fiscal to provide requested verifications
• Respond to any changes with Medicaid benefits
• Verify eligibility with monthly benefit spreadsheet from Reimbursement
• Ensure all Medicaid and Social Security forms are being completed in a timely manner so benefits do not lapse.
• Assist any new admissions with Medicaid application
• Complete forms for Medicaid upon Individual’s return to SEVTC from skilled nursing facility, including Hiram Davis Medical Center or upon admittance.

Ability to work independently, while maintaining quality performance and organization of multiple tasks in a busy, time sensitive, office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work, two years’ experience as a paid Social Worker, especially experience working with individuals who have an Intellectual Disability.

Additional Considerations

Intermediate skill level in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Google G Suite. Demonstrated skill and proficiency with data entry and database management.

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
