Salary: $4,000.00/week
Medical Specialty: Surgery
Standard Shift: Days
Weekly Schedule: 4x10
Shift Timings: Monday to Thursday (07:00 AM – 05:30 PM), possible flexing up to 09:00 AM start dependent on department needs. No call required.
Description:
Directly assist the surgeon during surgery by providing exposure, controlling bleeding (hemostasis), handling tissues, suturing, and performing other intraoperative tasks.
Conduct preoperative assessments, including reviewing patient medical histories, verifying surgical site and procedure, and ensuring that all required surgical equipment and instruments are sterile and ready.
Ensure proper patient positioning in preparation for surgery to allow optimal access and safety during the procedure.
Anticipate and pass instruments to the surgeon as needed, and handle surgical instruments with accuracy to support the surgical team.
Monitor the patient’s vital signs, anesthesia levels, and other key parameters during surgery to ensure patient safety.
Monitor patients after surgery in the recovery area, assist with managing pain, and educate patients about post-surgical care, including wound care and activity restrictions.
Required Experience:
1 year of experience.
Required Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Current RN License issued by the California State Board of Nursing.
Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
