Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist is a licensed professional who is responsible and accountable for the evaluation, planning, implementation, and assessment of physical therapy services for outpatients. The Physical Therapist is involved in assisting the Supervisor in compiling reports, data, etc. The Physical Therapist will plan and provide care to patients.
reflecting individual patient needs (cognitive, emotional, educational, physical and chronological maturation).
Job Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
Mental Demands:
1. Uses knowledge and judgment needed to meet the treatment needs of patients and families.
2. Often works under the pressure of time and accuracy in accomplishing patient care.
3. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
Contact with Others:
1. Has almost constant contact with patients and families requiring skill in communication, motivation and teaching.
2. Works effectively with Physical medicine professionals, Medical professionals, department manager, Rehab department personnel and administration.
3. Maintains cooperative working relationships both inter and intra-departmentally.
Additional Information
1. Assist with a variety of patients including a large population of ortho patients.
Responsible for 8 to 12 patients a day – 24 units done daily, average unit = 15
minutes.
2. Type of equipment.
Computerized documentation: will train on. (EPIC).
3. Licensure and Certification requirements.
Delaware State licensure. CPR certification.
4. Call, special schedule, or floating requirements.
The outpatient department is open from 7a to 5:30 p. Shifts entail approximately 6 hrs. of direct patient care, and 2 hrs. to do documentation, follow up with physicians, ETC.
* Possible occasional weekend work in acute care*
5. Information about the department.
2 Therapists and 3-4 PTAs scheduled each day Monday -Friday. one rehab aide and two front office staff. there are 4 private treatment/eval rooms and an open gym area with 7 beds and one large mat table for Physical therapy staff. An occupational therapy room with two OT and a on staff and one SLP with a private Treatment room
Dress Code is kaki scrub bottoms with navy scrub tops.
