Description

Director Laboratory Position Summary 

Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of Laboratory Services.

Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety.

Responsible for specimen collection and laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients. Responsible for Tenet Healthcare Laboratory technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, to include instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration.

Responsibilities
Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets
Directs daily operations of department
Directs staff
Has ability to hire, fire and discipline
THE DIRECTOR LABORATORY CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education
Required: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty. Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor
Preferred: Masters in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration or Business.
Experience
Required: 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in an acute care facility
Preferred: Lab Director experience
Certifications
Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent)
