Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The RN will demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the safe delivery of care in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Hold shift accountability for patient care in the Emergency Room.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • 1+ year of recent travel experience required.
  • 3+ years of ER RN experience preferred.
• Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (NRP preferred).
  • NRP certifications must be completed through AHA, ASHI, or ARC prior to start (preferred).
• Additional Skills:

  • Cerner experience preferred.

Additional Information

• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Scope of Role: Cardiac, Neuro, Sepsis, etc.
• Scrub Color: Royal blue or black
• EMR System: Cerner
• Weekly Guarantees: 48-hour weekly guarantees will be considered.
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling can be accommodated but may not be guaranteed.
• Unit Size: 38 beds in the unit.
