SHIFT:8 hour days
REQUIRED: ARRT and New Mexico State licenses required.Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association.
POSITION TITLE: X-Ray Tech
DEPARTMENT: Orthopedics of New Mexico
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs radiographic procedures as requested by physicians.Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited Radiologic Technology Program required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT and New Mexico State licenses required.Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association required, or must obtain within two weeks from date of hire or transfer.
SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of radiographic imaging equipment, anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum one year experience required which can be substituted with clinical education experience.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to:Service Line Director
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen C
Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged, extensive or considerate standing and walking.Lifts, positions, pushes and or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
