Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team. The RRT will provide therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care to patients with acute or chronic respiratory issues. This role involves working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in compliance with established protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Administer respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary.
Perform diagnostic tests, including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
Provide care to patients on mechanical ventilation, including setting up, managing, and troubleshooting ventilators.
Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians to develop and implement respiratory care plans.
Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and the proper use of equipment.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care strategies.
Education:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
State licensure or eligibility, as required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
Experience:
Experience in acute care or critical care settings is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in high-pressure situations.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and procedures.
Physical stamina to manage long shifts and assist patients with mobility.
