Schedule: Required to work an 8-hour shift and/or take call for 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday. This is a rotation based on the weekend team assignment.

No block schedule.
You will be required to work one 8 hours shift every 3rd weekend. You will be required to take 16 hours of call every 3rd weekend. This weekend call is at the main OR primarily to do ortho cases but may need to do general surgery cases as well. This is a rotation based on your weekend team assignment.

The weekend working and call hours may include the following times:

7:00am - 3:30pm,
3:00pm - 11:30pm
11:00pm - 7:00am

Call hours for holidays are the same as listed above.
Weekend shifts for call hours begin 1730 Friday until 0700 Monday. Shifts are the same as listed above.
Required to cover up to 8 hours of "late call” after your shift to finish cases. Will be required to take one L1, one L2 and one L3 per week. (Late call tiering system)
A requirement of taking call, MUST arrive within 30 minutes of receiving the call to come in.
Systems used: Client, Synthes, Arthrex, Biomet, Client, Tornir, Stryker, Max, DJO, Rosa Robot

Summary:
Position Overview:
A Surgical Technologist, also known as a Scrub Tech or Operating Room Technician, plays a vital role in the surgical team by preparing operating rooms, ensuring the sterility of equipment, and assisting surgeons during procedures. This position requires technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and arranging equipment and supplies.
• Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are in working order and properly maintained.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly to requests.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after the procedure to prevent retained items.
• Support patient care by preparing and transporting patients to the operating room as needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the efficiency and success of surgical operations.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent training preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Working Conditions:

• Operates in a sterile environment within hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, or specialized surgical clinics.
• May require standing for long periods and lifting/moving equipment or patients.
• Flexible to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on surgical schedules.
