CREDENTIALING REQ: 5-10 business days
CANCEL POLICY: 14 day notice Pay Cycle - WEEKLY PAY # of WEEKS: 13 SHIFT/HOURS: M-F, 8D GWW: 40
Weekend requirements: RNs will work 1 weekend (Sat/Sun) every 3-4 weeks.
Weekend stats: We try to keep the nurse on a team, where they have familiarity with the territory. The traveler can choose to ask for 1 day off during the week before (this is an alternate day off and does not count as planned day off) or they can choose to work overtime.
The hours are 8am-4:30pm. A total of 5-6 visits per day.
On call requirements: RNs will work 2-3 nights on call for every 4-week period (on call is 4:30pm - 8am; paid for hours worked to triage patients, perform visits, document, travel to and from patient home). On call stats: A patient care coordinator (non-nurse) receives all after hour calls and only passes onto the nurse those requiring nursing triage.
There is a Nurse Manager on call each day, who is available to answer any questions and provide support to the nurse. All hours to triage by phone and visits to a patient will be paid on the clock (including travel time/documentation time)- paid at their usually hourly rate and any eligible overtime. 4:30pm- 8pm: 50% change of performing 1-2 visits each day. 8pm - 10pm- 1-3 triage calls. 10pm-6am- 20% chance of receiving a triage call each night. Most common calls are related to foley catheters, wound vac, medication, change in condition etc. 3% chance of need to make a home visit (about 1 occurs each month).
Home visits require discussion with the manager on call to ensure for staff safety. If the manager/staff member believes the visit cannot be made safely, the nurse will provide instruction for patient to go to emergency dept. The home visits are usually a patient with a foley catheter, who is a retainer.
