Echocardiogram Technician Registered/Cardiac Sonographer (Registered)
Santa Fe, NM

DEPARTMENT: Echo Lab (Echocardiography)
Shift: Start Time: 7:00 AM End Time: 5:30 PM
10 hour rotating shifts no call
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.Two year allied health education program that is patient care related.Allied health occupations include but are not limited to: diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required.State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association within six months of hire.
SKILLS:
EXPERIENCE: Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Director of Cardiovascular Services
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodborne pathogen C
May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens. Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
